Maarten Koningberger performed with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dutch Radio Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Holland Symfonia, Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra, Noord Nederlands Orchestra, Les Arts Florissants, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, BBC Singers, Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, Tafelmusik Toronto and the Orchestra of Singapore (Einhorn’s Voices of Light at the New Esplanada). Maarten also performed various concerts in Poland during the Wratislava Cantans Festival (Wroclav), in Warschau and Bydgozcz. He was also to be heard during the opera production of the Nederlandse Reisopera (L’Opera Seria), during the production of the Opera Zuid in Die Dreigrosschenoper, and in operas of Debussy, Bernstein, Monteverdi, Mozart, Offenbach, Menotti, Maderna, Poulenc, Rameau and Strauss.
Maarten Koningsberger worked with conductors such as Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Jeffrey Tate, Kees Bakels, Hans Vonk, Arnold Östman, Ton Koopman, William Christie, René Jacobs and Ed Spanjaard. His recitals as lied performer, with the pianists Irwin Cage and Graham Johnson brought him to prestigious halls throughout the world. He gave recitals in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tivoli-Vredenburg Utrecht, the Wigmore Hall in London, in Germany (during the Ruhr Festival a.o.), South-Africa, France, Slovenia (Ljubljana) USA (Carnegie Hall New York), etc.
Maarten Koningsberger toured throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment conducted by Gustav Leonhardt, performed in Die Zauberflöte, during the Monteverdi-cycle of the Dutch National Opera, with René Jacobs and his Double Bande in Telemann’s Der geduldige Sokrates (performed in France and Germany), performed lieder of Schubert with the HET Symfonieorkest, and performed with the Noord Nederlands Orchestra. Maarten also sung the role of Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas during a production at the Festival van Vlaanderen.
Various recitals with Schubert’s Winterreise, Schumann programs with the Matangi Quartet (Dichterliebe). In 2014 he performed as well the Matthew Passion with the Hong Kong Philharmonic under Jaap van Zweden, Haydn’s Creation with the Residentie Orchestra, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Reinhard Goebel and the Noord Nederlands Orkest and Die Zauberflöte (Sprecher) at the Festival Aix-en-Provence with the Freiburger Barockorchester under Pablo Heras-Cassado, as well as with the Dutch National Opera. Besides that he released with What’s new a unique and successful jazz album. In latest seasons Maarten Koningsberger has been soloist in several Passion concerts with Reinhardt Goebel, performed in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at Dutch National Opera, and sang concerts with Matangi Quartet and several Lied recitals.
