Sander de Jong Tenor

The Dutch tenor Sander de Jong began singing at the Martini- and Roder Boys Choir where he, first as a boy soprano and later as a tenor, found his love for singing.

He graduated his Bachelors at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam studying with Prof. Pierre Mak and subsequently his Masters at the Hochschule für Musik Hamburg with Prof. Jörn Dopfer.  

He took part in Masterclasses with artists such as Camilla Nylund, Helmut Deutsch, Marius Vlad, Michaela Schuster and Alexander Oliver.

During the 2020/2021 and the 2021/2022 season Sander was part of the renowned Operastudio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Düsseldorf/Duisburg).
Here he sang a multitude of roles including Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen, Mercure in Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers,  Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviata, Normanno in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Erster Geharnischter in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Harry Frommermann in Comedian Harmonist in Concert and Der Junge in Da Falla’s Meister Pedros Puppenspiel.

The young tenor had guest engagements at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Nederlandse Reisopera, Theater Kiel, Wadopera Fryslân and the Schlossfestepiele Wernigerode.

In the 2023/2024 season Sander will make his debut at the Oper Wuppertal where he will sing the Oronte in Handels Alcina.

To the Nederlandse Reisopera he will return to sing Erster Richter in Korngolds Das Wunder der Heliane.

Furthermore Sander will return at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein to sing Martin in the world première of Lucia Ronchetti’s Das fliegende Klassenzimmer and Le Duc in Donizetti’s La Fille du régiment.
